**Free for noncommercial use** — including individuals, families, charities, schools, and government bodies. **Commercial use is not granted**; for commercial licensing, contact R8rly.org (https://r8rly.org).

### Why two licences?
Creative Commons recommends *against* using CC licences for software, and CC's "NonCommercial" term is ambiguous for code. So the **code** uses **PolyForm Noncommercial** (a licence built for software, with a clear noncommercial definition), while the **written material** stays on **Creative Commons** (CC BY-NC-SA).

### Data responsibility
The apps run on the user's own device and send no journal data to R8rly.org. If you host, modify, or deploy this software to collect other people's data — especially children's — **you** become the data controller and are responsible for compliance in your jurisdiction.
